My private cello lessons are designed for adults, whether advanced or beginners. For younger students wishing to begin learning the cello, I strongly recommend attending a conservatory. I also teach in Nyon (Conservatoire de l'Ouest Vaudois) and Rolle. My cello lessons give you the opportunity, without obligation, to take the AVCEM or ABRSM exams each year. Private lessons are given in Lausanne (5 min. from the train station).

I'd like to offer you a free first cello lesson/meeting to get to know each other. You can tell me what you're looking for, and I'll show you how I teach. We'll talk about luthiers, prices, etc. For this first appointment, I can put an instrument at your disposal. Then you can make an informed decision.

Laurentius Cazan studied in New York at the Manhattan School of Music with Peter Wiley - cellist with Beaux Arts Trio and Guarneri String Quartet - and chamber music with members of the American String Quartet. He obtained his Bachelor of Music and Masters of Music degrees in 1989 and 1991 respectively.

He moved to Lausanne in 1991, where he studied with Guy Fallot and was awarded first prize for virtuosity. During his studies in Lausanne, he was awarded the Montaigne Scholarship, which enabled him to spend a year and a half perfecting his skills in Karlsruhe with Prof. Martin Ostertag. Laurentius Cazan was titular cellist with the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève for over ten years. He now devotes his time to teaching, notably at the Conservatoire de l'Ouest Vaudois in Nyon and the Institut le Rosey in Rolle.
